Avaline Assessment and Qualifications (AAQ), established in 2020, was a response to the challenges faced by many Chinese students. Today, AAQ stands as a pillar of support, operating in the UK and mainland China, guiding students towards successful entry into universities in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Asia and China.
AAQ covers Level 3 Diploma (pre-university), Pre-master, Vocational and Pre-sessional English programmes.
AAQ runs its Diploma Level 3 qualifications via Avaline School learning centres across China. At the same time, some are embedded in local schools alongside the international department of the schools. Its bespoke curriculum combines the A-Level curriculum with the skillset training required for a smooth transition and building the bedrock for success in university. In addition to the A-Level subjects, additional skills and competencies in the various subjects (e.g., Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Business, etc.) are also provided, including academic research and learning skills with subject-related academic English. At the end of the programme, students will sit the Diploma Level 3 examination in 3 core subjects. Students can also study part of the programme in our UK centres or affiliated colleges. The meticulously constructed and assessed AAQ Level 3 Diploma qualification is designed to push students slightly beyond the academic limits of A level, ensuring they are well-prepared for the rigours of university education.
Our Pre-master programmes offer two pathways: business and IT/Computing. These pathways are designed to meet the needs of students from the same area of study or as a conversion tool for them to bridge onto selected master courses. The business pathways enhance students' ability to progress to a wide range of programmes such as management, administration, finance, marketing, and economics courses. The programmes are delivered in our various study centres or embedded within international colleges and relevant schools in Chinese universities across China. The curricula are tailor-made to ensure a seamless transition, considering our university partners' advice and needs to lead students to success ultimately.
Our vocational programmes are designed to support Chinese vocational schools and colleges in designing an international curriculum. These programmes include bespoke programmes with teaching materials and train-the-trainers sessions. The provincial governments endorse these programmes, and we contribute to the efforts to lead the reform in vocational education nationwide. We implement external quality assurance and moderation, benchmarking our operations against UK-based examination boards and regulatory demands. This guarantees a robust and internationally recognised qualification, instilling confidence in students' educational journey.
With a vision of promoting and developing sustainable research, AQQ also participated in professional research on vocational education and jointly founded ISAR with the University of Huddersfield and United Education. ISAR stands for the International Centre of Sustainable Academic Research, which is known as "可持续学术中心" in Chinese. It is an international academic organisation for education research and development, officially registered in 2022. ISAR encapsulates its core values by naming itself after the Isar River, which originates from the renowned Alps and flows north into the Danube River, eventually emptying into the Black Sea. The Isar River has nurtured the European continent's civilisation and boosted the local economic, cultural, and energy development. ISAR will flow forward like the Isar River, never stopping until reaching the sea. As an international research centre dedicated to vocational education, ISAR and its members will play a leading role, through their rich experience in vocational education and excellent experts, in promoting cooperation and exchange in the field of vocational education worldwide.
ISAR's academic headquarters is located on the beautiful campus of the University of Huddersfield in the UK. The overseas team of ISAR is composed of outstanding professionals with rich international experience in vocational education who can provide relevant services for improving vocational education based on the global leading development framework of vocational skills and qualifications. Considering China's situation, ISAR will, in particular, provide professional support and services and contribute to planning development and research for improving Chinese vocational education.
